This Summer, 28 grade 7 KidSafe youth tapped into their entrepreneurial spirit with a special mini program from Start Up Skool! The four day program taught youth the fundamentals of starting their own business and bringing their ideas to life through the creation of their own company. Youth put their crafting and cooking skills to use making art, brownies, wallets, terrariums, bath bombs, stress balls and more, all to sell at a Start Up Skool pop-up shop in Vancouver. They even pitched their ideas to investors Dragon’s Den style!

Start Up Skool staff, Jaclyn, commented: “By the end of the program the kids had so much confidence that they actually wanted to start their own business!”

For grade 7 youth, our Summer Break Program is the last time attending a KidSafe break program before moving on to high school. During the summer, KidSafe strives to empower youth with the leadership skills, self-confidence, and community spirit they need to thrive in their future schools, workplaces and communities.
