When I asked one of our 7 year olds what skill he learned at KidSafe he took his time and thought about it and replied “ to listen better and how to peel potatoes!” Two such different things but really shows how diverse the learning is at KidSafe; to say that he learnt how to listen better was impressive but the cooking and life skills portion of KidSafe is also important and left a lasting impact on him too.
I also had a touching moment with a parent who found out her child would be at KidSafe for winter. She literally sobbed and told me that now she could work and at least provide some sort of special Christmas dinner.. talk about filling a need..
