Today is Pink Shirt Day
Today is Pink Shirt Day👚💗 A reminder to #LiftEachOtherUp and spread kindness every day. At KidSafe, one of our core philosophies is providing trauma-informed care. By implementing a trauma-informed approach, we seek to understand each child’s unique background to understand them as individuals and the reasons for their behaviours.
According to the International Bullying Prevention Association, “A traumatic experience such as bullying is experienced at the most instinctual and sensory part of the brain.".
Bullying prevention can act as a trauma-informed approach to mitigating the source of trauma. This highlights the importance of raising awareness and promoting trauma-informed practices when working with kids and youth.
